to refer to someone in a manner they prefer, just seem like a common courtesy and basic respect you would afford anyone. but what do i know, i'm just a real piece of sh!t.

As this topic completely has gone off track again with some narcissistic comments let me from my stand point. I have went my whole life by two names and there are some people that only call me by my given name. Most being my close family. Most don't even give it a second thought to what they address me as. Even my business cards don't have my given name on them. I introduced myself as such to most everyone I meet. And I prefer to keep it this way. Why? Not sure but to me my given name is more personal and I am that type of person. I see nothing wrong with this.

Now back on topic! Lol

I am done, call him what you will...
I hear ya.

But all im saying is as each individual says hello or addresses him in a written way , that its up to him to say something in a nice way to that person that he would prefer to be addressed as.. No need for any of us to worry about it ...

There will be people that agree with you and people that see it different. There is no right way. Its a subjective thing. But for the people that disagree , they mean no harm. They just think differently just like you do with them . If someone told me they didn't like what I called them I would apologize and be done with it...

I guess hes missing the fact that he is on the Discovery witch millions of people watch. They watch him and start to relate to him and like him . So they naturally start feeling comfortable calling him by his first name because they feel like they know him.. Its shouldn't be insulting or offensive. Its endearing and a compliment if you ask me...

I agree most mean no harm. I to be honest most ask if they know my given name what I prefer. When it comes down to this it should only matter to the individual to what they should be addressed by. Why would most really care. Just my thoughts.

Just see this thread being closed if it continues with these crazy rants.

So is Bigchief going to run the CrowMod at NHRA events? Or is that car... dead?

Props for going back to a "street" car for the show. I liked his GTO better as a street car myself. Everyone has their own preferences.

Does Bobo get mad if you call him James? Or Jim? He didn't like Jimbo, and look what happened there...

I hope Chief gets the Sasquatch port and turns those elusive creatures into reality while turning in some awesome track numbers!

I only ask because if that apps aren't any good, I wouldn't count on the main course being any better.

Do they have buffalo chicken apps?

Funding? We all know everyone on the show makes $50K an episode.

Humor, I was kidding.

Good work Chief, keep kicking A$$.

From now on I personally will follow my Friend: David Holmberg's lead and refer to the individual as CHIEF. Whatever makes him happy is ok with me.

Having spent time around numerous NASCAR and Indy car drivers. I can tell you that most of them would rather not be bothered or be interupted by John Q Public. So , leave them alone to do what they want, unless invited.
