Default Crane cam kit

Trying to get info on an old Crane kit and what it is made for. It was just given to me,
A guy out of nowhere said I need this and gave it to me while I was out driving my dads 64 bonne.
The box is cool, worst case it will sit on the shelf
It’s got a cam and kit part # 28404
55-70 pontiac
Grind number 55-310-nc
Lifters pn 28500
Valves 8a-1599
Springs pn 99834
Springs retainers pn 28901

Cam card is moldy and hard to read I’m going to try to clean it.
Any info would be great
Thanks,
John-

That is old probably late 70 or earlier (maybe 1970 since that is what the application states)

Most likely it SS-310-NC

Going from memory it's 236 @ .050 .485 lift 310 advertised

If the cam number is SSH-310-2-NC It's a dual pattern cam with 244 duration on the exhaust and I think the same lift.

The rest of the components would pretty much be the same as in their more recent catalogs. Crane offered a good dual spring assembly for our Pontiacs and it didn't change throughout the years.

I would prefer lifters from the 70s than the junk that's made today.

What you have shown is just the box.

It is hard to see but this looks like it could be the cam card.

This my Crane cam card from that time period.

cleaned up the cam card. I’m surprised It cleaned up without falling apart…
but….I opened the cam tube and it was hiding a gm dealer tube with a n7327 used cam
Lifters look good but used…springs are green with a red center spring..

Old guy must have forgot he used the crane stuff already…
Oh well,
