I have been in the ICU with COVID and double pneumonia for over a week. Could have gone either way for a few days. I hope everyone has a nice holiday and take every day for all it has to offer.

Default Christmas/GTO

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS’

Twas the night before Christmas when out in the garage,
Not a trace of a Ford, not even a Dodge.
The presents were wrapped and the lights were all lit,
So I figured I’d mess with my 66's for a bit.

With my hand on the latch as I lifted the hood,...
A soft voice behind me said “Looks pretty good!”
Startled and Shocked, I turned mighty quick,
Leaning over the floor jack....Oh My! it was Saint Nick!

I stood there a bit, not sure what to say,
As he asked in a hurry... would you trade her for a sleigh?

“No way Santa” I said with a grin,
“But if you’ve got time .....we can take her for a spin!”

His little round mouth, all tied like a bow’
Turned to a smile as he said ... "OK Let’s go!!”
So not to disturb all the neighbors asleep,
We quietly pushed the car to the street.

Taking our places to coast down the drive,
One turn of the key and I let the clutch Fly!
The sound that erupted took him by surprise,
Yet I could tell he liked it, by the look in his Eyes!

With tires a screaching and eyes all a glow,
We headed on out to where all the Hot Rodders go.
On First.... On Second, through Third we went,
The gears wear grinding and the shifter was Bent.

Santa’s grin widened....almost approaching his ears
as he sat there laughing .... almost in Tears!
With a glance toward my eye, he said with a Smile ...

“DO YOU MIND IF JUST HOLD THE GRAB HANDLE A WHILE? ”

So I backed off the pedal and pulled to the side,
"Here ya go Big Guy......Take her for a drive."
Ol' Santa was stunned when I gave him the keys,
He walked past the headlights...... even shook at the Knees!

He popped the clutch and the tires shook the Ground
This old GTO exploded with Sound!
Power shifting to second, again into third.....
I sat there just watching...... not saying a word
Faster and Faster we blasted from Sight,
When finally he Roared......

“Merry Christmas to all, And what a Fun Night!!”

P.S. It’s Often Said That Santa Says Ho, Ho, Ho, but if you listen closely, he’s Actually Saying “Gee Tee OH”!!!
