Default She did it!

As a few of you know, my wife has been working on her second master’s degree( she already had a master’s in nursing); she has been working on her MBA-HC( Master’s of Business Administration-Health Care). We got the notification on Monday; she is now an MBA-HC! This was through managing 88 LTC facilities through Covid, through her younger sister becoming critically ill then passing away, me turning my left knee into a maraca and the associated surgery and PT. Best yet: she graduated with honors. I couldn’t more proud of her! The only problem: now she wants to finish her APNP. She only needs 500 clinical hours….

My wife was thinking about going to get her BD, but with 10 years left before she's 65 we decided she would probably not make enough money to just about break even. She still owes $ on the last stint in higher education.

I lived through the last degree, and it's not much fun, she was either working, or studying. it cuts into dirt track racing time.....LOL

Speaking of that, it's Ohio Sprint Speedweek this week, and I'm sitting at home watching it on Flo Racing, cause we just can't justify traveling to 9 tracks, plus admission and incidentals, like track food. Yeah we're feeling the high gas prices, and inflation..........

Tell her congrats! That took a strong commitment and a lot of work. Doing that on top of the stress she had at work is super-human.

My wife earned a BS in nursing after our kids were in school and I remember it was intense.

Thumbs up

Great news Steve. Please give my congrats to your wife. It's always difficult to try to continue our education while the rest of life seems to hold us back.

Her perseverance is commendable, and her accomplishments speak for themselves.

Congrats! What are you going to do with all the free time now that she's not buried in books?

Good question, Mike. Work still keeps her busy( The Omnicron variants of CV-19 are still killing the elderly, even in the fully vaccinated and boosted populations). She said something about buying a floating house; I shuddered.

I was listening to a clip of Warren Buffet on YouTube. He said the best way to survive hard times is to do something to increase your skills and increase your value to society. Sounds like your wife is right in line with that advice.
