Default Who wants a 1972 455 convertible?

No, not Lucy!

Vin is 2D67Y2P202080 and there apparently is no color code on the cowl tag (special paint?) and it sure looks like Plum Mist to me. Seller has no idea what he is looking at & is the BF of the daughter of the original owner. I asked him to check the block codes for me and was describing them as being to the left of the water pump and he had no idea what a water pump was.

BTW - his name is Mitchell, I have no idea why he has Bubba in the add.

Mike,
The front bumper was repainted within the past month or so, as I saw this car at a detail shop in Milford all taped up.

If anyone is serious, I can look this car over for them as I work in Milford...

Go check it out for us, find out what the block code is and see what the cowl tag says for paint. I think he said it's supposed to have a white top on it but it got replaced at some point with the black. I also had him look under the rear at the diff cover & he described a 12 bolt which would be correct.

See if you can tell how much rot or body work was in the car too.

Is that a Cadillac color? 1967 Plum Mist is darker than that, almost purple. Back in the 80's I used to dream of finding cars like this. That's what is so great about the internet, you can find rare stuff like this for sale.

Michell says the story was she didn't like any of the colors Pontiac was offering that year and paid extra for a Cadillac color. With white top & interior - stunning!

Kinda looks like Iris Mist from the photos. Was that ever offered after '65 with a different name on a GM car?

FYI: One could NOT get a Cadillac Firemist color on a non-caddy car because the amount of metallic flake in the paint called for a special paint gun and they only had the set-up in the Fleetwood or Cadillac plants. However a NON-FIREMIST color may have been available.

Bubba to Mitchell to Michell who is this? Lady? Not that it matters but I'm confused.

If a guy didn't like the color, he could strip the paint right off and get it painted ,say, a dark blue metallic from the big-car line. The cowl tag would not give up his secret. If the car is not patched and bondoed and is mechanically fit, it would be a screaming deal if that guy could buy the car for $14K.
