Oh...dang...well, in that case I resepctfully withdraw my nomination. You know, I remember him listing it for sale but honestly don't remember him selling it. I'd forgotten about the spoiler too. Must be a touch of CRS.

Lol...thanks BJ...I did sell it. I wish my HO lemans fit that criteria. I'm close to reverting it back to 100% original equipment......though more like 99%. Original paint except front clip. Need to get some of those repopped tires too....those will look good on my 15" KR's.

Wing & hood tack there too Pat & wing on my Cardinal Red unrestored 54,000 mile WW5.

I think Jim's is the closest they may find to fitting the bill.

Dealers would/will add anything to a car to sell it. Aftermarket stereos, mags, polka dots, you name it. Based on that, what a dealer would add is not what the Pontiac did.

A car dealer will do anything to sell a car
Heck, some dealers put chev engines in too.

Mike Darr's Lucy Blue '72 455HO car (Smithfield, MO) would be perfect!

No spoiler or hood tach, and quite the survivor!

Neat car, uniquely optioned (those finned GP/Bonneville wheel covers came in the trunk), and Mike DOES travel to show it. Believe that he may have even been to the MCACN show before.

I have all of his contact info if anyone needs to get in touch with Mike.

EDIT: I forgot about the tires, but as I recall Mike was considering ponying up for the Polyglas GTs, and this could be a great excuse for him to take the Polyglas plunge!

Hey Lloyd, that Lucerne Blue GTO looks great. Can you PM his contact info. I appreciate all the help. I know there are some great '72's on this forum. Time is running short and as I said it would be a shame not to have a GTO represented and as Steve said those 3 letters do mean everything when your being displayed with all the other brands best. Oh, by the way there are two Trans Am's signed up (one original and a restored).

Not that it matters, but I do have another deck lid that was painted when the whole car was done just because. And I have access to a set of correct tire's.Heck I'm actaully using the correct 1972 only T-3 head light's ( and they work )the car is a born with #'s matching 455 HO automatic car.But I am not running the Unitized Distributor.I am using an HEI,but eveything else is right.Good luck with your search I'm sure somebody has what your looking for....

Hey Bob, Does it have to be a highly restored 455 HO ? I had my car there 2 years ago for the "Every Year GTO Display". As you know I only have a 400 3 spd.,but it is a totally correct survivor. At the same time I would fear ending up driving in snow if there was a storm since I don't trailer it. What do you think ?

Only to those that covet it, which we all know you do. My HO lemans is everything a GTO is in 72, just missing emblems.
