Default 67 Grand Prix HT door weatherstrip

I can't seem to find anyone who makes door weatherstrip for the 67 GP Hardtop. I see them for the convertible.

Our host doesn't have them either that I could find in their catalog.

http://www.steelerubber.com/, but it appears they also just list the convertible. I did find a listing for roof rail weatherstrip for the GP hardtop.

Yeah, makes no sense to me why I can't find 67 GP HardTop door weatherstripping. Someone here who has restored their 67 GP must know a source from someone.

I never noticed that before until this thread. Will the 68 GP door weatherstrip work? That one is listed, although for some reason it's way more expensive than all the others. Figures. I've got a 67 hardtop too.

I think the reason is that there is no vent window on the '67 GP. '67 GP doors are unique. Don't know about '68 GP doors? I used '67 GP convertible weatherstrip and it worked fine. It is a little different at the front of the door were the vent was. Maybe I can take a pic. of the front of the door? Scott

68 GP doors don't have vent windows either. That's why I thought they might work. 67 and 68's are so similar, there can't be that much difference between those doors, I would think.

True! The price was right, using the '67 conv. Would like to know about the '68 weatherstrip also. It must be too different? Have to check out Les's '68 Gp car when I see him again.

Default 6 & 7 differences........

A 67 GP door fits perfectly into a 68 GP opening with all style lines and shapes lining up with the surrounding sheet metal. Only problem is that the door hinges mounting holes are inches off in the vertical measurement (w/ws maybe). Ask me how I know . No wonder GM got in such a fix: a one year, one model door which had to be the full employment of @ least one engineer .

6 years ago when I restored the GP I had to settle for Metro's big Chevy roof rail strips, but after SoftSeal came out with strips made for the car a few years ago I replaced those with the xlnt S/S items.

So what I'm hearing is either us a 67 GP Convertible door stripping or 68 GP HT since the doors are dimensionally the same?

Don't know if you've found what you're looking for but California Restorations website states they have them. I bought from them in tha past with no problems.

They have same part number for both hd and convt. I suspect they are just selling the Convertible door weatherstripping that everyone else sells as fitting the HT also.
