Default Bench to Bucket seats

Has anyone here converted their 67 GP from bench to Bucket seats? Has anyone done that with any aftermarket seats? I'd like to put in a set of ProCar bucket seats. I've seen that they make brackets to convert your bench to bucket by providing you with the inner brackets. Are the floorboard different on the big Pontiacs compared to the flat floorboards of the A-bodys?

The A and B bodies have different floor pans but conceptually they are the same in that the outboard floor braces for the seats are the same regardless of bench or bucket but then for buckets a set of inner floor braces was welded in by the factory. The actual floor pan was the same regardless of seat type.

The B bodies had much taller seat tracks as the seats are higher relative to the floor as compared to the A bodies. The actual bucket seats themselves interchange between A and B's but not the bench (B bench seats are wider and deeper than the A version).

Thanks for the info. Will these brackets work? They are for bench to bucket seat conversions. These are to welded next the the trans tunnel (inboard).

I don't believe they will work on B body, they have two bolts at the back of each seat track. I would just fabricate what you need to get the bolting location and height. Any local body shop or ornamental iron shop could do this in no time.

Chip off any undercoating near the area you will need to weld so you don't start a fire.

B-bodies have 2 bolts per seat track front and back, the A-body only had one in addition to the taller profile.

There are no drop-in replacement bucket seat tracks I know of out there short of finding original factory stuff and putting that in. Anything else requires fabrication and\or modifications.

To be clear, there are the brackets that bolt or weld to the floor, and then there are the adjustable tracks that fasten the seat to the floor brackets. I assume the Procar seats come with their own tracks, and you're looking for the floor brackets.

I saw these yesterday and they look to be about the same as the GP mounting points. I am not sure they will work but trust me, I have searched everywhere!

Do bear in mind that unlike A bodies that shared floor pans the fullsize chevy and fullsize Pontiacs do NOT have the same floor pan. I don't know if these differences affect the seat brackets but the floor pans between Impalas and big Pontiacs are very noticeable when looking under the car.
