Default 421 SD repo intake project

I thought I would start a shorter thread for all the guys interested in buying a early and late style intake.
John came to my house today with a finished machined intake to test fit on my 62 389 engine. It was better than we would have even hoped for for the first machining sample. One issue we found is the casting did not allow for a blind threaded hole for the doughnut draw up bolt. That will be addressed in the casting.Another issue I forgot about is the second to the last intake bolt on the pass side(last bolt on late style)will need a threaded stud to get by the port and put a nut on.It will be furnished with every intake. The ports were better than any after market intake for matching. Will get good pics next time when we can put light in them.Pics to follow.Tom

Fantastic progress! I can’t wait to see some of these manifolds showing up on cars. Tom, out of curiosity, how many manifolds are you planning to cast and is it a one time only run?

Tom can you put a straight edge across the carb pads and measure down to the block at the valley pan lip front and rear and I can add it to the list here. Be interesting to compare it.

I'm still in for a late model head one!!

No that would be too hard easier on just a motor.
