Default Vinyl Top Trim

I am putting my trim on around my Vinyl top on my 70 Lemans and need to know what goes in the hole circled in the this picture.

I think it may be for a stud but this particular hole is smaller than the others so thethe little slide studs I have will not fit. its the same way on the other side. I did not take it apart so i have nothing to reference. The folks who took it apart say they gave me all the hardware but it is possible that it is missing. If anyone can share their knowledge on this or a picture of what goes there, it would greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks

Looks like it was for vinyl top trim or if the car had a factory painted top.

Maybe I was not clear in my original post. I know its for the trim but none of the clips or studs I have fit the hole. Leading me to belive I am missing peices. I am trying to determine what or if peice is missing and what it looks like. I have evrything that is included in the clip kit (PY part# RF51A). 12 plastic slide clips, 4 studs and 4 nuts. I have identified where each of these go but this hole is not accounted for. Anybody remove there molding recently and recall what was there?

it's been quite a few years since I stripped one apart, but I'm thinking that it was a small sheet metal screw that secured a metal clip that the trim snaps over (basically what's going with the plastic clips and the weld on retaining rivets, but it was screwed in place. (I think the intention of the factory was to allow the trim to flex up or down to meet the piece that wraps by the window in case the weld on rivets along the side had any deviation in the height so the two pieces could be matched in line where they meet which couldn't be done if there was a static body rivet already welded in place)

just put a sheet metal screw (coat the threads with sealer first) through one of the plastic retainers right there.
