It's still unfinished and sitting in my friends garage. He has been asking me to get back over there. I have been a little busy thinning out my herd of parts and other projects while helping my son build his truck and trying to get some work done on my 74 superduty project. I am hoping to give him a hand in rhe summer to get thie thing going back down the road and able to be enjoyed again. I will post as soon as there is some noticeable progress on the car.

Ok, quick update on the car. It has been in my buddies garage unfortunately collecting dirt and cat prints. He has a lot going on and the car isn't top priority. I removed the interior from the barn and cleaned it up and put in plastic till installed. In the mean time I sold my major project 70 trans am and all of the parts I had acquired for the restoration. Since selling the car and parts, it got me thinking about this car and the work I previously performed on the car. So basically I made a deal with my buddy and used the proceeds from my 70 and parts to buy this car from him. So much for thinning my herd lol.I have a set of decals on order along with new carpet. Once I get the car cleaned up and start assembling again, I will post.

Nice car! My cousin had a 72 ta ho 455. It had an aluminum intake and nice heads. He crashed it when he was 16. He gave me the heads and about 10 years ago the neighbors iron scraper stole them from me. I like your new project!

Just wanted to do a quick update.I took an inventory of what's still with the car and what is missing.. I.started cleaning the dirt from the car and all of the parts that accumulated from sitting in my buddy's barn.. I have been slowly doing a little more work on the car. In the mean time I ordered carpet, decal kit, shaker wiring, rear emblem letters, headliner kit and other misc. Parts. I tried starting the engine today. But it is starving for fuel and the pump is barely pushing so I will add a new fuel pump to the list. I

I did sandblast the front wheel wells and brackets. They were then primed with Diamont 2 part epoxy.

Front lower valance and spoiler and a pic of the nose installed on the car before I pulled the car out and rinsed off. I still need to do some final fitting on the nose and hood to make it right

I wanted to prepare the rear bumper for installation. It was a bit dirty and had some slight surface rust on the inside and the brackets were rusting. Since it is not perfect but is straight and was fitted to the car prior and this car will be driven frequently I chose not to completely remove everything but at the same time I wanted to do something. I did a polish on the outer chrome side then scuffed and treated the rust on the inside. Next I taped up the bumper and painted the inside area with seymour stainless steel paint, the taped out the mounting brackets and sprayed them black

That bumper turned out nice! How did you clean the INSIDE of the bumper? Mild sandblast? Looks good.

Thanks. Normally I would of Blasted it with 000 sand but after hitting it with a red scotchbrite and some 400 grit sandpaper it looked pretty decent so I hit it with some RM 801 metal conditioner which is phosphoric acid and water mixed. Then I painted. With the seymour stainless steel and finished the brackets in black.

The door guts have been installed and some assembly on the rear of the car has been completed. Next step is the rear glass, door glass , roof channel installed and weatherstrip.

I stripped the door mirrors and marker light bezels and put in epoxy primer. They will get painted next along with the rear spoiler and wheel flares, then installed.

The glass is in the car though I still have some adjustments to do on the door window tracks. I dug upnsome barrel/tubular nuts and put the letters on the tail panel
The carpet and interior are next on the list. |

Thanks Matt. I.can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel as far as getting this thing back on the road. I still have some small mechanical and wiring issues in addition to the finishing needed on the body but the car will start up and can be driven down the road. Hoping to get the final pieces on the body and block and buff the clear soon then do the decals.. I did leave some of the stuff on the car that Glenn previously posted about in his thread even though was either not correct or original to the car build such as the unitised distrubutor, chrome valve covers and deluxe interior. This car will be driven and the original plan was for it to be a nice driver that will see the road fairly often so I am fine with not being totally correct for the original build. Just want to finally cruise it lol.
