Default Blocking off exhaust from intake manifold

Hello I have a 1967 GTO and live in Texas where it is hot most of the time. Thus I do not need the carburetor heated by the exhaust flowing through the intake manifold and under the carburetor. Does someone make a intake manifold gasket that blocks off the exhaust ports that go through the intake manifold? Or has anyone figured out another way to solve this problem. Trying to keep the paint on the center of the intake manifold.

thanks
alan

Back "in the day" I blocked the intake side of the gasket with a thin plate cut from stainless steel from a mudflap. Needs to be that thin to not cause a vacuum leak. Use composition gaskets rather than the Fel Pro blue so they can accommodate the thin plate.

Driveability suffers on cold engines (less than normal operating temperature), not just cold climates. If you have a hot air choke, stock on your vehicle, cold engine driveability will suffer further (choke won't function)
Guess it depends if you mind driving the pump car for the first 5-7 minutes of your ride.
Gaskets that are blocked off are available. I'd bet Butler has them on their site for a part # reference.

As SCF said. But if you have a manual choke it's better. I've had no problems, even up North, with the cars I've had that had manual chokes. You just let them warm up longer before you take off.... especially in the winter.

I have an intake gasket set with the block off plates I plan on installing this year. I even keep the flapper in the right side exhaust manifold wired open all the time. For here where it get hot in the summer I think it helps a bit so the carb doesn't easily get vapor lock due to the heat or high engine temps.
