Those heads flow great and will make big power. Working on real Pontiac history is nerve wracking but very gratifying I am sure. Having your hands on the heads that made all that Pontiac history is a humbling feeling. Putting these back on the street is great also. Congratulations, Jim.

J.C, did your heads start life as 5C, or 6X heads?

John, just to go over things again and to let others chime in here's where your at to me.

The Comp 914 springs you have call for a 1.750" installed height to have 180 on the seat which is kinda high for a Hydro roller.

Jim has set the installed height at 1.800" from what you told me which has got you at a far more livable 160 psi on the seat.

At the Comp Cams installed height of 1.750" and there 1.100" coil bind spec those springs where safe for .600" lift.

Your old faithful Cam your looking at with your 1.65 rockers will give that Cam some .630" lift, this is ok since your installed height is 1.800"

If you want some added leeway when you checking your needed push rod lenght you can likely set the lenght to provide only .620" lift , yet have good geometry/ low ware if it makes you sleep better!

Thanks Steven. I'm just glad to finally be done with this thing and putting it to bed. I did the math wrong on the old faithful cam initially and it WILL work for me so that is where I'm going with this thing. I enjoyed our conversation last night. I also talked to Jim Robertson after I talked to you and after both conversations this old fart felt all warm and fuzzy. (smile)
