Have done body work on a couple of 60 and 61's . The underside unibody isn't as rugged as I expected and lots of places for rust if car sits. Hope yours looks good underside?

Thanks Jerry, I told Kat you liked her car, she gave you a thumbs UP!

As for the Lucas system, my only previous experience was with my Old 1955 TR3 that I sold in 1977 when I went into the service (wow over 40 years ago! ) I actually found most of the issues I had with that car was caused by corrosion on the cheap wire connectors they used, after I spent a weekend cutting off all the original connectors, stripping back the wires until I got to a corrosion free area, putting on new connectors with heat shrink and dielectric grease, the system actually worked as well as I would expect any 1955 system to work.
I don't know if I will have the same luck on this car, but I am hopeful. Did some research into swapping the car to Negative ground, doesn't look as bad as I was thinking. I will probably do that after getting the engine and brakes sorted. If she wants a modern radio, A/C, or just be able to plug in her Garmin or cell phone charger it is a must.

In my early teens (already a gear head) was at a shop hanging out and one of the guys was doing something electrical under dash on an old sports car. Don't remember now what kind of car it was.

In the door jamb it had an attached plate that said - Must Be Grounded to Positive Earth.
I started laughing and asked him what kind of Hippy Shet is that supposed to mean ???
He said it wasn't Hippy Shet , it was factory theft prevention.
He was getting pizzed at the car so I waited a while to ask for more details.
