Ok, LS’ers, tell us about this 6.6 engine, that’s in the new 3/4 ton pickups!!!
Anything new about it? Bore, stroke? Same deck height as all the other LS, LT stuff?

I love the displacement of this engine - for obvious reasons.
I wonder how responsive this mill will be to bolt-ons and possibly cams. |

About the same as any LS/LT engine....crazy power with just a cam change.

Here is something I prepared earlier on the L8T engine...

One interesting note in Marv's article was that Ford has released a 7.3 pushrod crate motor - the cammers were too damn big to fit in older cars.

The 7.3 Godzilla is already well on its way to supassing the LS for swapping popularity down here in Australia. The cheap buy-in price of crate motors and the fact they're able to make huge horsepower fairly easily is getting a lot of Aussies excited - I actually wrote this article BEFORE I wrote the L8T article above. https://www.whichcar.com.au/features...illa-v8-engine
Here is one car already running numbers in Aus: https://www.whichcar.com.au/street-m...ered-xa-falcon |

It is not even the numbers - the Modular motors did not fit into anything older. I thing when LS's were finding their way into Fox bodied Mustangs Ford saw the challenge.
To me it is not about the most power - always somebody else with more. My 5.3 build using the newest GM LT stuff to me is more practical: mid 20's mileage and 400 horsies. and weighing 400 pound wet - what's not to like? But GM is fixated on the 6.2's and their crappy mileage... |
