#5 and counting GM remans
#5 let go in sons 97 GTP
this one went after 8K of easy driving, while he was cruising at 15mph. any ideas as to what other years can be retro fit? Ive done retrofits of other trans that were said to be impossible so Im not afraid to dive into it. this is a 4t65e hd

There is a tranny shop in Lakeland called Little T's that is pretty good with these.

sounds like there is an on going problem something has to be taking out those trannys. You might want to replace the radiator with the next trans and flush out the cooler lines real good and add a trans cooler. Also make sure that the trans and torque conv are being bolted up with out any interfearance.

First one was a friends performance shop,the rest was local Pontiac dealer
All of them replaced either under extended warranty or the warranty GM gives with trans. New radiator in it about 6 months ago. The first couple trans Im sure were related to boost and a happy foot. 3 inch pulley and a PCM tune that firmed up the shifts. Add to this DR and some track time. He was warned at #3 he would buy the next so all the stuff came off and it still didnt last. One broke in the driveway backing out and it was so bad it broke the case and had no park. That trans had easy miles with stock stuff just as this one did with only 8K on it over the last 3 yrs.
