i looked at that car for years trying to talk the original owner into selling it. never would. it sat outside and was in very very bad shape when he finally sold it. he called me and told me what he had been offered and i passed. i didnt know you restored it. thats cool.

Gary. The body was very solid. The interior was toast. All of the engine parts and everything was still under the hood. I got over 30 years of registration papers from 1970 until 2000 and something. Car turned out very very nice. I thought you might know the car- that’s why I threw in the Oklahoma thing. It is 1 of 22 ram air convertibles built with 4 speed and air conditioning. I am going to guess one of one with color combination.

I not only restored it- I owned it when I restored it. I bought it out of northern Ohio.

Very deluxe top-notch color combo on that 70 RamAir Vert
Would have been an ultimate driver car back when.

Should probably pull past 6 figures now at Kissimmee

i shouldve been more descriptive about very bad shape. the body was in good shape however i "assumed" the floors were going to be gone because it was sitting almost on the ground. interior was totally toasted. BUT that was a very good car, i just wasnt willing to pay what he wanted for it at the time, but i had like 5 judge converts so a non judge wasnt going to get my wallett out unless it was a good deal. right after he sold it , i regretted not buying it. honestly i figured he was trying to hustle me for extra money on the deal.
do you still have a copy of the phs on it?

http://https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL...o-convertible/

The picture quality of exterior and interior are really really bad on that 70 .
It looks more like Lucerne Blue in those pics.
Not good for potential online proxy bidders which are getting more common.

Has a reserve on it apparently.

In other news
Another collector is flooding the auction with 10 documented LS6 Chevelles,
and a bunch of upper crust 69 Camaros
Bowties out the yingyang

And you said I take bad pics. The pictures of the car are horrible. Hoods can be adjusted. I am sure it didn’t leave my house that way. I haven’t seen the car in about 10 years. Go find another one nicer. Only made 22 and it is numbers matching engine- trans and original rear end. Car looks beautiful outside in the sun.

Ha , I remember that too !
You used to take some of the worst pictures , of some of the greatest cars ...

Was probably the camera's fault back then.

Default Island Boy

I was fortunate to get into the Judge family thru Island Boy. I bought a 69 Driver Judge from him back in November of 2013. Still enjoying it.

Been seeing higher prices than i would have predicted on majority of the cars so far at Mecum.
and High ratio of Sold - versus unsold.
If the money doesn't run out before next weekend, Blue 70 RA AC 4spd Vert should do pretty good.

If it still looks like I remember. I think the car does an easy $85000 plus. It is really a beautiful car. Numbers matching 4 speed with air and a ram air iii droptop. The perfect summertime or Florida car. The options are just killer too!

I was expecting it to pull at least around 100k or just a shade more.
125k was healthy for it.
It definitely must have still presented very nicely

Maybe Dana glued the deal together after it left the stage.
125 would have been about 114 plus 10% commission
He might have lowered his take to make a deal swing at the 125.4

Or some other type voodoo
Think Greg said before that Dana knows where the real money stops on cars with reserves.
