Default So What's the latest update on LED headlights

I ask here because of the "special needs" of our hideaway cars.

Just wondering how the various options people have chosen are working out.

I'm about to start assembling the Hideaway system and thought it might be easier to get the headlights in before I get it mounted on the car.

I'd need the sealed beam conversion enclosure thingies, and the LED bulbs of course. I've got a few options saved that people have recommended, just wondering if they are still working out for people.

How about I go at this from another angle.

How difficult would it be to retro fit LED headlights into a GTO with hideaways after everything is assembled and on the car?

From my research I discovered that most brands require modifications since their depth is greater than the regular 4000/1 headlamps. With that in mind, to do a proper job you'd probably want to disassemble. Don't have to, but a die grinder's pretty messy and that nice paint is still pretty soft!

Edit: I had checked out kits from Dapper Lighting, and their depth is greater. There are some Chinese ones on EBang that appear to be much shallower.

You'd have to research the dimensions, but Holley has some LED lights that look very much like original sealed beams: https://www.holley.com/products/lighting/headlights/

$180 per lamp. Yikes. I’ll be running old school I guess. Lol
