Shifter / Trans
Hey Guys, I need some help. My 68 GTO won't go into third from second. It will go from first to third fine and from fourth to third fine. When you try to shift to third from second , its like the shifter hits a brick wall. I I am unable to get under car due to physical problems. Does this sound like a trans problem or shifter problem. I have removed console and carpet to make sure there was no interference. thanks, Mike

Sounds like time for a Shifter Alignment: think a 1/4" Phillips shaft goes into the shifter hole for 2-3 3-2 H-Gate access, and the rod lengths are Thread-Nut adjusted for length.
