This is my buddy data plate . I don’t know all the options but I do know it’s a RAIIi 4 SPD, carousel red, can’t rmmeber color of the interior (been at least 16 years since I’ve seen it.)
Black vinyl top. I really don’t remember anything else about it but could find out.
I don’t want to go jack this awesome thread but wanted to know if it could still be a pattern judge for my buddy. He’s had the car since 73 .
I just couldn’t figure out a sure plan as to what constituted a pattern judge and what didn’t .

The only absolute way is to get the PHS for the car.
If a buildsheet is found in the car, it may have the number.


Having all the options for a 'Pattern' Judge doesn't make it a 'Pattern' Judge.

Every Judge Invoice we have witnessed from 01C through 02B has been a Carousel Red , Pattern Car.
His would be the First Known with a Vinyl Top .
His options would HAVE to mirror the Invoice of The Hangin Judge exactly.
But even with those factors - it doesn't make his documented.
To people in the know - it would be considered a 99% probability.

Doubtful he will do PHS since he hasn't already.
Framingham 69's usually have a Buildsheet - if it were found in good condition , that would document it by the order number and Zone Lot : Ship To : information.

Ok, you sold me. I’m going to go with the Tremec 5 speed. I’m guessing what I have is an M20 anyway.
The only transmission parts I have right now is the Muncie that will probably need to be opened up and looked in at the very least, and a bell housing. If all they would need to do is shorten the driveshaft to make it fit, a few extra grand is probably going to be well worth the driving experience and gas mileage by the sounds of it.

New update. Undercoating finished. I went with bedliner. Looks cool and should last a couple lifetimes. Also more block sanding. Looking forward to actual primer coming up soon.

Last week: Underliner, brake lines and rear brake fitting, more block sanding body work. Finally found a picture of the quarter panel decal from a vintage racing decal seller on Ebay! Might have to repro it though, last time he had one was 10 years ago.

Hoping the next update will be in primer and include the engine. Waiting on a new decklid which is currently on backorder til Dec.

Engine block back from machinist, cleaned up and painted. Currently being assembled. TKX 5-speed and flywheel ordered.

It feels like it’s been a while since last update, so here’s more engine pics from today. Hydraulic camshaft is a Comp Cams custom grind from Butler. Need to measure for pushrods next and intake manifold going in is a dual plane Edelbrock Performer.

Also some chassis stuff. Fitting a beefier crossmember, and also the ladder bars are back. They will be removed again, painted yellow and given new bushings. Motor mounts on.

Yup. 028147 YH. Not sure where my father got it but it had a torque converter on it. Also have a 400, a 421, and another 428 that I guess aren’t in as good of shape.

Engine almost done. Going on the frame this week. VERY happy with how it looks and can’t wait to see it with the valve covers on it. Going with some Hamburger’s Performance tall finned fab’ed aluminums.

I have used bedliner on the bottom of many cars. One thing I've noticed, and it would be interesting to hear how it works for you is, tape doesn't like to stick to it for me. I usually try to do the bedliner after it's painted, wetsanded, and buffed because of that. Also its hard to get the wetsanding goo off of bedliner because of the texture. Could be specific to the brand I use though.

Visited the shop today to check things out. The engine and trans is mounted to the frame! Trans has to come off again for a min because they need to install a spacer somewhere.

The valve covers are Hambergers, but they have to go back because the valve springs touch the interiors, so that’s a shame. May be going with Edelbrock classics for the finned look.

I am pumped for the body to go back on the frame soon. Still needs a driveshaft and exhaust. My wife says, “Let me know when it’s orange.”

Should fit without any modifications from what I heard/read. Just needs a shorter driveshaft.

I saw a YouTube video of a guy putting one in a 69. I'm just not 100% sure which one. I think he had to clearance a bit. It was "fast montey" if you want to have a look at it. He has a ton of videos on his 69 that are interesting.
