Baron--Did you see they busted some guy (named Adams) in Columbus yesterday? He has 6 stolen "classic cars" and other vehicles. I wonder if your car is one of them. If so, maybe you can buy it back from the insurance company and have two goats! (Or sell one)

Here's a link to the story http://www.nbc4i.com/midwest/cmh/new...8-07-0031.html

update: this guy lived 4.37 miles from my house

I've called the police and the VIN/Plates didn't match anything they have

but they don't know make/model of any of the cars

And said most cars had the VIN plates taken off, so they don't have them

I was given a # to the impound lot that noone is answering

Well, we know there will be at least six enthusiasts that will be happy to get their cars back. I sure hope you're one of them. At least those of us in the Columbus area can rest a little easier knowing that @#%! is out of business.

Call (or go to) the Channel 4 studios. They had some video of the stolen cars. I didn't see the whole clip that they showed on the news at 6:00 this evening, but they usually have a lot more video than they actually show. I did see a shot of a blue '65? Chevy, but then they switched to the motorcycles and four-wheelers. Just a thought...

4 miles away....this guy probably had ample opportunity to see me with it and track me down

Here's to hoping

and the police impound lot has an employee that doesn't want to look and doesn't know what is in the lot

He says if my VIN is on the car, they'll contact me
...when the article says the VIN's were removed

i've been told to call back tomorrow

I wonder if this guy had anything to do with the Columbus Goodguys thefts every year.

Since the vin tags were removed they should look for the #'s stamped in the frame. Any pics you have of the car should help also.

Hopefully you'll get some good news!

These thieves run together. I would bet he knows who sniped your car. Maybe the detective on the case can get that question asked, and run with it, and make a name for himself.

Too bad. It would'nt surprise me if he DID have it, did the VIN swap and unloaded the car. There probably is a network of thieves he works with.
At any rate, hope your car gets back to you soon. I'll keep my eyes open.

Well, hopefully you got what it was worth. Did you have one of the collector car agencies insure your car? I would be interested in hearing how they took care of you. I dont know what I would do. I have hagerty but even at what I have it insured for I dont think I could find another one. With the big cars they are either total resto's or done.

for 15k depending on how much is missing when you do find it i wouldnt let the insurance pay more than 80% new laws here in oklahoma and alot of other states maybee even yours says if a car has been paid off or totaled by an insurer that it can never be put back on the road no more rebuilder titles here if 80% or more is paid of corse if you dont get it back guess you should take what you can get
