Default vin tags

The problem I see is there are dishonest people out there. This creates a problem for the guys who really enjoy the car hobby. It would be real difficult, virtually impossible, to tell the difference from a Lemans re-bodied to a GTO.

That listing has already been pulled by ebay. Guess we know what they think on the legality of it.

I saw that it was pulled shortly after I made the post.
He had it listed as a trim tag but in the pics you could see a section of metal slightly larger then the vin tag with the tag riveted to it .
both the trim tag and the vin were sitting on the Mass. title .
Asking price was $1,000.
Tags were off of a '67 Firebird 400 coupe.

I still believe this issue can be litigated and at the current times would not be illegal. This vehicle with replaced tags should be titled this way. The problem is there is no federal mandate, its state rules right now. So the dishonest people can find away around the laws. If there was one law that everyone had to follow it probably could be written in such away to make doing this illegal act more difficult to accomplish.
