I will keep a look out in North Alabama. I can post info on the local car enthusiast web site in Huntsville as all car clubs of all makes frequent the site. Good luck finding it!

I'll keep both eyes and both ears out for it. Not a whole lot of '68 convertibles around. I'm just about 20 miles south of the airport.

This is great news. I know how you felt. I had my car stolen and recovered after TWO years. And with a new headliner and crappy paint job to boot!

Thats great to hear!!! Congrats. Maybe you will get it back in better shape . I had a friend in Newnan get his 71 340 Cuda ripped off. When he got it back 2 years later, it had a real nice paint job and the interior had been totally redone (and we all know how expensive MOPAR stuff is).

That is great news and rare to hear.
I have a friend who had her truck stolen up in North Gwinnett county a year ago. They called her after about a month and asked if she'd found her truck yet. She said..."No....I thought that's what you were supposed to be doing..." LOL
About a week ago, she got a message on her machine asking her to report to a Gwinnett County Sherriff's dept location. to recover her property. She was pretty happy figuring they'd found her beloved old truck. She called and it was the license plate.

KB, I've seen a lot of your posts and noticed that you were in Georgia but never knew where. Now that I see you are in Fayetteville, I think I've seen your car at the Krystal cruise in. That is one beautiful ride. I spent about 30 minutes looking it over and never saw anyone get in it.
Next time I see it, I'll track you down.

WOW!!! I think the two of you should buy a lottery ticket today also, because you are LUCKY. I hate to say it, but I figured that your car was long gone like most stolen vehicles. I am excited for you. Let us know all the details.

Thumbs up Good guys win!

Thats awesome that you got the car back! And I don't think it was necessarily luck that got it back.

I think a lot had to do with the HEAT you put out on the street looking for it. After all the legwork you did, and doorknocking, I bet the word got out that you were looking for the car and you meant business. Somebody told somebody and they got 'stuck' with the car.

That, and a little divine intervention always helps.

Please update us CourtTV junkies and tell us how the case was cracked?

Default We got our 68 GTO back!!!!

Yes, last week we got a phone call....
A sheriff was serving an eviction notice to a house about 10 miles from where the car was stolen and as he knocked on the door a man ran out of the back
of the house...
The sheriff then followed him on foot and ended up about 3-4 houses down the road and there sat our car. The sheriff went over to the car and noticed
there was a vin plate super glued over our dash. He then ran the vin and it
came back on a Plymouth. He knew this car was not a Plymouth. He then
noticed it was super glued and lifted it off and there was our vin plate.
He called it in and realized it was stolen. He then confronted the man that
lived there and he said he did not know who it belonged to. However, it was
on his property. I do not think anyone has been arrested for this yet but I am working very hard on this... Just as hard as I did to get my car back.
Our car was just as it was when I last saw it, except for there is no ignition...
They had ripped it out and hot wired it. They attempted to remove our
vin plate. Luckily they were too stupid to pull it off. We were soooooo
lucky. It was just a miracle we got it back. Thanks to all for putting the
word out for us. We really appreciate it.

That is so cool that your car was is back and suffered so little destruction. I went today with a friend who had to pick up a car he sold but never got fully paid for. It was supposely stolen from someone else other than the purchaser from my friend. That thing is a wreck now.

I believe I'd buy that cop a steak dinner. So many of them would have put forth no effort on this kind of thing.
