Later 8 lugs on a 60
Anyone know exactly how much to machine off a 1965 8 lug front drum to make it work on a 1960? The difference in shoes is 1/4" but the amount to machine will be different than that due to the irregular shape that comes towards the backing plates. The irregular shape is to keep dirt/water out. NOT an issue here. Thank you

FWIW:I would pick up the correct drums or try to mount some later backing plates..
What you want to machine off is a reinforcement ring..not saying it wouldn't work..JMO I may have some drums...have to look...
