What about going without a console until a later date.
Add dog dish and give that built to run look

My carpet is new but has been cut for an auto so I need to cover the holes.

Here's what I did with one that was in pretty bad shape. I body worked it, shot the black, laid down the decal then cleared it.

FWIW; You might go this route until you secure a better option?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-67-GTO-...-/330404415053

They used one of these ABS deals on a customers '65 at the shop and I have to say it didn't look bad once installed.
It was a budget thing but in the end it made the crapped out console top look 100% better.

The holes around the rim by the shifter are the ones I'm worried about thanks.

Default My option for mine

Of the two consoles I have one had holes in it also,a lot like yours and as if gauges had been mounted. The other has a slight crack just at the upper end where it mounts under the dash. I'll probably use the one that has the holes in it as I've blasted all the chrome off and will fill the holes with epoxy. Then I plan to paint the console a two tone without any chrome.I do have concerns when I go to mount as i'll be adding a Tremec 5sp and i'm not sure what floor mods i'll need to do yet. But considering my car isn't a true GTO my choices are along the restomod ideas i'm applying to my car.I have seen a thread discussing a quality chrome spray paint but I can't remember the name. Hope you find a resolve and update the thread.

Jeff, I take it the one on eBay was the plastic. I know it says a New part, but at least they could have said it was metal or plastic.
