these are on ebay, im wondering if these are the same wheel i run on my 70 gto, but 15 inch like i desire, are they the same design, or are the type that came off of newer pontiacs with different trim rings? i want something that looks original but bigger, is this my best choice.

I think I would hit some junkyards. There are plenty still out there. I usually pay $20 each.

The repro 15X7's & 15x8's are not the same style as original '70 1/2-72 15" Rally II wheels. Original style '70 1/2-72 Rally II 15x7 wheels used the same center as a 14" Rally II wheel & used a bigger "lip area" outer rim. The early style wheels just look more agressive, might ck pics of an original '70 1/2 T/A.

All this said, as a '70 GTO could not come with 15" wheels from the factory, so which 15" Rally wheel one buys makes no real difference from an originality point of view. Unless someone really like the agressive look of the original '70 1/2-72 15" Rally II wheels & are lucky enough to find some, it's not really an option.

At one time, know of two different fellows that were having limited production runs of early style RallyII 15x7" wheels made. At this time, I'm working on one of these fellows to make some more of them.
