Most guidebooks on trimtag decodes show the build date in a different location. My build date is 05B, and is actually the 3rd line down, on the left. It is slightly below center of the rivet location.

First line - ST 69 242XXXX
Second line TR 258
Third Line - 05B

Is this correct ? I have seen some illustrations that show build date as First line ??

my 69 gto has the date code (06b) down on the third line as you stated. i have all documentation for this car as well,so i would say your tag is correct.

Taximan,

Your Build date is in the correct location. I have had 5 69 GTO's and all of my build dates have been on the 3rd line. You have nothing to worry about with your trim tag not being correct. Hope this helps.

Before 1969, the built date was found on top. 1969 was when it was moved below.
