Is that what's known as the 70 carry overs.

Does it have a "70" cast on top by date too? Cast 9799140 or 483677 on side? Vin stamped too I assume for f body?

I wouldn't consider an August cast block a 70 carryover as it was cast for and during the 71 model year production. That block should be the 483677. The 9799140s were cast for the 70 GTO 455s and are the ones I would call "70 carryovers".

Thanks guys, I get it now.

I have a June 9, 1970 WC 9799140 in my 71 Judge with 08D cowl date. My guess they ran out and went to that casting in those two months.

Sounds like a good dated 71 TA stick block. Best of luck!

Would you mind PM-ing me with details about the block? Is it all apart, or assembled?

I have a '76 TA with a massively grenaded 400 that I need to replace.

Thanks for your time.
