Default Turbo - Help - ?

Ok so don't rag on me but I have no idea where else to go and I'm totally old school and pretty much non electronic but get by.

Not a Pontiac but I assume the principle ground workings is basically the same. Son has a 2005 VW Jetta 2.5 6 speed started the process of ramping up to install a turbo last fall when he was stationed in Mississippi . He had his ECM flashed and reprogramed for the larger injectors and turbo , car was running fine then that ECM failed . Bought another one had that flashed to stock and put original injectors back in, car ran fine again drove back to Cape Code. He bought another ECM sent it out to have it flashed and reprogramed again for the larger injectors and turbo . He came home here Wednesday with the intention of installing the turbo as he has everything except the 21/2" exhaust tube and 1 1/8 relief exhaust tube which we would have to fabricate .
Car has been running fine , trip from Ms to Ma and his daily commute which is around 160 miles round trip and home this week . We changed out the ECM and injectors Wednesday night and the car immediately threw check engine light on start up . It was late so we check out for the night . In the morning scanned the system code was an 02 sensor pre cat . He had one of the air control sensors not plugged in and we bled the fuel rail seemed to have air bubbles then went away car was warmed up some . we erased the codes and went for a ride as long as we were driving the light would stay out but car didn't seem as responsive with this ECM and injectors as it did with the stock flashed ECM and injectors . We were running errands and every time on start up it would throw the 02 code . So when we got back home we reinstalled the stock programed ECM and injectors . No codes and the car runs fine .
So is it possible the reprogramed ECM for the turbo application is bad ? It's probably a no brainer on my part but is that what we're looking at ? he's pretty disappointed at this point and costly to keep buying ECMs , any feedback would be greatly appreciated . Thanks Don

NOTHING says that you cannot have an improperly flashed ECM from a company.

NOTHING says that you cannot have a bid injector in a batch of "new" injectors.

NOTHING says that you cannot have an incompatibility between a PCM flashed for low impedance injectors vs high impedance injectors. (Or vice-versa).

You know the stock stuff works so the injector and ignition wiring and fuel system should be ok.

Talk to the EFI people again that you got the parts from.

You need a scanner that can read "live data" to see what is going on.

Thanks guys we did hook the lap top up and read the 02 resistance on the stock system , but with the turbo electronics and injectors in there was no 02 sensor reading . So he does have an email into the company that programed the ECM . So needless to say we didn't accomplish anything this weekend . He took every thing back with him to Ma.
