Default Efi Intake Help

I am building a 461 currently Estimated at 550 hp/tq
Ported Butler heads
XR288HR Cam
car is 1978 trans am
Transmission tremec tko600
rear gears 2:41
27" tall tires

I currently have the Holley terminator system
Bolted onto an Hurricane intake. Had the performer but the TB system didn't like it.

So my questions are-
Is it worth upgrading the TB system to MPI?
If I upgrade what intake is recomended
-Hurricane
-Crosswind
-Torker 2
-Victor
or other?

If this motor doesn't make me smile big enough I might put a few LBS of boost to it too...
In a few years from now.

Thanks

On the EFI side the Torker II EFI is called a "Victor" and the Victor EFI I believe is a Super Victor.

I would switch to the Super Victor with the Dominator EFI if you go boosted later. For now I would probably keep what you have. What heads do you have, and what do they flow? If they flow over 300 fm at your cam lift I would swith to a Victor maybe. One thing that I would change definitely would be your gears. Have you driven it with those gears and the TKO? You'd probably never use 5th. I'd probably go to a 3.23- 3.42. JMO

fwiw, I have setup in my signature. Don't use 5th till 75 mph(about 2000rpm) which is still slow in Michigan but i'm considering ditching my 3.42 for 3.73 or 4 something. Just need to watch my 1st to make sure I don't make it useless. Also considering cam change to pull power band down a bit.

I have 3.89 gears with a 26" tire and will put it into 5th at 35mph, but that is pretty low. The lowest gear I've ran with the TKO-600 was 3.08, and I definitely was at full highway speed before even thinking of going into overdrive.

I miss-typed the info on gears, they are 3:42. I changed them when I went from Auto to 4 speed a few years ago.

intake 285 @.5
exhaust 227 @ .5

So what benefit do I get if i go from the Terminator Throttle body to Multi port injection?

Does it tune better, Make more power, Drive better?

Depends how big your cam is and how even your fuel distribution is with the throttle body.

If the injectors all flow the same the cylinder to cylinder fuel flow should be more even with multi port.

So the info i take from the responses is.

Keep my Current intake (a standard Hurricane) and don't bother upgrading my Holley terminator system to MPI, until I decide I want to boost the motor?
Am i reading this correct?

I wouldn't "upgrade" unless you either have identified an issue you are having that it could resolve or because you simply want to.
