*also posted in Electrical Issues*
But I also posted here for us "Big Car" People, specifics.

1966 Catalina...
Changing out the engine with points setup. Installing a 75 400 electronic ignition.
Replacement engine is complete with original equiptment, dist & coil, starter etc.

Q. What, if anything, needs to be changed. Or what should be changed ?

Anything = Dist. wiring, battery cables, grounding straps, dash wires.

Sorry about the "general" attitude of this question, but this is not a strong point for my knowledge. This is why I come to you !!!!
as always, thanks gang

P.S. Not trying to do the entire engine harness changeout at this time.....unless it is necessary.

The only difference that I am aware of is you obviously won't be running an external ignition coil. The only thing different is the lack of points and the coil is on the cap. It's an HEI correct?

Well, if you are using a 66 engine the Intake will hit the HEI
You need a 67 up intake.
You will need to run a full 12 volt power to the HEI that is key operated. If you do not use the full power you will have strange problems.

Usually I'm found working on my Pontiac. If you want to find me Look for the white picket fence and all the old Pontiacs parked outside. And the half dissembled engine sprawled all over the driveway!

Engine is a 75 400 complete.

Stock Dist/coil setup for that year. Using a HiPo coil though.

Changing to a stock 70 400 4bbl intake and edelbrock 1406 carb.

I NEED HEADERS....not L.B.'s.....(It's B'ville Joe and my montra')
