'65 or '66 Catalina or Bonneville wagon wanted
I'm considering moving up to a full size wagon and would like to find a '65 or '66 model. I'd prefer the Bonneville, but will consider a Catalina as well.
I'm currently driving a great '67 Tempest wagon and would love to find someone interested in some sort of trade. (Up or down) Basically something on par with what I've got. Running car that can be driven while it's worked on. Doesn't have to be rust free, but I'm not looking to work on a Fred Flintstone car either. Let me know what you can find!

I have a '65 Bonneville Custom Safari wagon that I have been stockpiling parts for a restoration. I could be persuaded to let it go. It's still pretty original including the chaulky paint and loose threads on the interior. I drive it to work once in awhile to test the brakes. I have started some body work as it was hit in the lh rear. CA high desert car with no rust. I'm the second owner. I'm thinking 3.5k. If you're interested PM me for details.

I know there was a '66 Catalina wagon somewhere on the Treasure coast for sale. A friend of mine sold it to another friend of mine and I saw it for sale a year or so ago. Guy that owned it at that time took the front clip off of it. Gulf turquoise car with green interior. I'll ask around to see if anyone knows where it went.

Yeah, ask around and see what you can find out. I'd prefer to find a 3 seat version (standard on '66 Bonnevilles, option on Catalina). I even like green cars.

It was just a 6 passenger car with ps, pb, and a/c. I used to ride around in it in West Palm before it was sold. Actually Andre, who is a member on here was the second person that bought it. He sold it and it went somewhere else, probably the guy that took it apart and posted it for sale. He'd be the guy that might know where it is.

Yeah, I rocked that car for about 4 years or more. matching numbers car, turquoise with turquoise interior. ps pb ac. 6 passenger, but I was thinking of converting it to a 9 seat. I drove it to Daytona for Turkey Rod Run a couple times and all over the place. It was great running and driving car and very reliable. I sold it to a local guy who stripped it and repaired the rust and had it in primer in dry storage. He sold it to a guy about a year or 2 ago. It was heading up to the Daytona area.
Another car that is somewhere in the area is a 9 passenger Bonneville Wagon. I got snaked on it when I was trying to buy it from the original owner. Loaded car. The guy that snaked me simply flipped it. I saw it at Daytona a couple times sporting 15" rally II wheels, but I have not seen it in a few years. It was white with a black interior. power everything including power vents. Still had the plastic protection for the cargo area. That would be the car to find again. |

Well, keep your eyes open for me... that 9 passenger Bonneville would be nice to find.
I'm still amazed at how much bigger those cars are than my Tempest wagon... It feels like a car and a half!

Lol, the guy that snaked the Bonneville brought it by the house right after he bought it. I remember that car. Didn't it get repainted to a gulf turquoise or something similar?

I referred to him as a snake, but I think that weasel would have been more appropriate.
There is a fellow named Jim Beck that was the owner of my '66 Cat wagon before Jimmy S, owned it. He had the same wagon, same color etc, but as a 9 passenger. I think that car is in Broward County somewhere. Whomever owns these big cars seem more scared to drive them than the GTO owners around here that I know. Fer cryin out loud... |

Yeah I remember Jim. Jimmy and I drove down to look at the car then went back a few nights later to pick it up. I remember Jim talking about the 9 passenger car. He had a small used car lot on Federal Highway off Commercial Blvd if I remember right.

He moved up north somewhere, but I don't know if the wagon went with him or stayed here. John Fitzgerald had an identical wagon that ended up in Atlantic Auto parts after his violent demise. I pulled quite a few parts off of it, including the hard to find body line molding, which I believe that I still have somewhere. There is also another guy that I met locally that has the same color combo car, but in mint condition, however it was sideswipped in a trailering incident when he was bringing it down from DC. He was not the friendliest, and didn't give me his contact info, or he would have been the first guy I would have called when Fitzgerald's wagon ended up in the boneyard.
Its hard to beleive in this area that there were 4 nearly identical '66 catalina wagons in the light turquoise color. I'm still mad at myself for not buying the '64 Bonneville ambulance that a kid bought off a military base in SC. That thing was minty, and had the gurney, and a bunch of ambulance accessories. Still had the lights on it. Mileage was low, rust was non existent. Its hard to beleive that they had kept it in service till the mid 90's. damn damn stupid Andre. |

There is a '64 Catalina Airport wagon in Hartwell Georgia. The one with like 3 or 4 doors down each side. I need to make a ride back down there to see if it's still there.

I know where there is a '62 Catalina hearse that looks pretty solid. Ugly paint job though... I think it was actually a combination car.

Nice looking wagon & I'd love to hear more about it and some other pictures. But honestly, I'm pretty stuck on the idea of a 65 or 66 nine passenger wagon. (Of course that '67 is still in the back of my mind Jeff...)
