Default '65 AC control assembly

Hey Guys....I need ideas to create a constant vacuum source to bench test my AC dash control assembly on the bench. Vacuum needs to mimic manifold vacuum at idle (@ 15-18). I need to make sure the vacuum lines are able operate the diaphrams properly before I button everything up.

An air-vac can meet your needs. Even a mityvac hand pump can do it if you have hand pumping endurance and no leaks.
If you were considering a shop vacuum cleaner, they have poor vacuum but they can move a lot of air. It's not good for what you are trying to do.

Buy/make a universal vacuum storage tank and then you can use most anything to built your vacuum.

Buy a 25-50' roll of vacuum hose and park a regular daily driver car near your garage where you work. Hook it to a vacuum source and run the hose to your test bench area. I do this all the time when needed. Cheap and easy.

Good luck with it. Just love the 65-66 dash. The push button AC controls are really cool and intricate. How many times have you been asked, "Why does your car have two radios?"

Making progress setting up the Catalina control mechanism and the vacuum lines on the bench, gonna run a vacuum line to use engine vacuum from the GTO to test the four actuators related to the HVAC system. Three actuators are still OK, had to replace one of the dual port actuators from Old Air Products. When installing the system back in the Catalina, does it matter which vacuum source I use? Either the center carb base nipple, or the hollow stud on the rear carb? Thx
