Default Nostalgia Day at Island Dragway May 1

If anyone would like to help carry the Pontiac name plate (or any other but I'm biased!) this Sunday the weather looks great.

Damn wish I was ready chassis certification isn’t til the 7th or I’d be real interested in that . Love island drag way great place.

I used to race NETO it’s a great organization for anyone wanting to race because you only need a few races for season points. Very fun great group of people too.

Some pics from yesterday...

We had five 65 Pontiacs in our pit area (3 GTO's and 2 Tempests). A few tough first round losses for the 65 Pontiac crew. But two of the cars made it to the semis in Nostalgia 4. Regardless of the outcome, a great fun day for everyone.

That's a nice picture of your dad too. Good man and it was nice to see him.

Here's a staging lane picture I grabbed.

Thanks! Pop had a good time! He really enjoys the company and atmosphere at the track.

I made gains with consistent reactions but need to get some consistent ets. The starting line was not good for me in the first round!

No worries, the other guy needed every bit of slicks, automatic trans and line locks to beat you!

Hi Chris!

No personal best for me. My best run on Saturday was a 14.524 at 96 first time trial. I lost first round, my car bogged and just about quit at the line. Not sure what happened... too low on fuel, engine too cold, left and right feet not cooperating?? I did make some strides with consistent decent reaction times (0.097, 0.073, 0.124). I have 19 runs on the car so still getting to know it on the strip even though I have owned it for 34years!! I think the car is better than the driver though at this point!

Jase

No new record for me either and like Daubert20, my best pass was my first running 14.246 @ 99.43. I'm trying to figure out the best way to launch this car and adjust other small details. My wife likes to say it runs good and it already has a "loose nut behind the wheel". :--)

You guys are doing great for stockers with street(not drag) tires. My best launch on 275/60/15 BFGs when I was going 13.1 was to stage at idle, leave at half throttle, and then immediately floor it all the way. It was really tough to get right. Stay out of the water on your burnout.
