Got a customer with a 61 389 car. Will the Long branch manifolds fit ok? Will he need any other special adapters?

I have a set of long branch on my 63 wagon.
You must have the oil filter adapter for them to work. Use the adapter for the firebird. I also recomend using the Firebird longbranch because they are narrower than the big car. 2 1/4 vs 2 1/2.
You might have a slight problem with the drivers side touching the starter. Use a short solonoid. Contact Me for more details.

My experience has been that the big car has a 2.5" outlet, while the Bird only has a 2 1/4".

Check that adapter carefully for oil flow. They ALL have to be modified for proper oil travel.

Case in point:
I had to epoxy [JB-Weld] an internal cavity in the oil adapter so that it would actually send oil to the filter, without making a U-turn back into the motor. Even had the proper gaskets.

Ccass,
Is this car stock? Is the drivetrain modified (later engine/trans) I have encountered some minor problems.

Car is a stock 389. We're looking for both frame clearance and oil filter clearance.

Ccass,
Go with the firebird Ho longbranch. Use the firebird adapter. You might have some starter clearence problems. A slight grinding or shorter starter solnoid will be required. Contact me for more details.
