I'm curious as too how many sets of header wrap I need to completely cover the primarys on both sets of 1 5/8" summit headers? I know some of you guys must use it, and I know it reduces alot of engine compartment heat but does it reduce 70% as advertised?

I haven't used these wraps myself, but have talked to several people who have and they all wished they hadn't. From what I understand they have a tendancy of retaining moisture and will rust out a nice set of headers prematurely. There may be someone on this board who has figured a way to avoid this problem.

Coat the headers(Sermatech) like i did. Then use the wrap.A lot of header companies will void the warrantee IF you use the wrap.

Depending on the kit you buy, it will probably take 1.5 sets of wrap to do both of your headers down the primaries.

HEADER WRAP SUCKS. ITS A PAIN IN THE ASS TO USE, THE FIBERS GET ALL OVER THE PLACE, LOOKS LIKE HELL AFTER A SHORT TIME AND CAN CATCH FIRE IF OIL OR FUEL GETS ON THEM. I KNOW THIS FROM EXPERIENCE. SPEND THE MONEY AND HAVE THE HEADERS COATED INSIDE AND OUT. THIS WILL REDUCE THE UNDERHOOD TEMPERATURES AND LOOK FAR BETTER THAN "BURLAP" HEADERS.
