Default Steering Column Lock Cylinder Key Buzzer Question

I am re-assembling my non tilt steering column. I have installed a new key lock cylinder. After testing the key buzzer circuit, the buzzer sounds as soon as the key is inserted, when you turn to the first on position, when you turn to run and start the buzzer is off. So far so good correct?
When you turn to aux, the key buzzer is still on??? I believe the buzzer should be off in the aux position correct?
So I remove my new lock cylinder and indeed the plastic actuator tab extends and retracts as per my description above.

In this pic you can see the cylinder is rotated to the aux position, and the plastic tab is extended. You can see the cylinder is up against the stop. It feels like there could be a bit more movement if I was not up against the stop. I am thinking of carefully filing the stop a little bit to allow more rotation in the aux position, which might , hopefully allow the plastic pin to retract???
Any thoughts before I perform surgery?

I have had this problem with Repop lock cylinders, housings. I eventually bought mine from Paul Spots and problem solved. Ames gets their good ones from Paul who is still near PYPES and max performance.
I think their is part machined wrong or not enough in the lock housing . SO they should be in the Ames Catalog ..

Update: I ordered a “good” one from Ames. Got it today and guess what? It is functioning the exact same as my first lock cylinder. In the Aux. position the tab is out , activating the buzzer!
So I called Ames, they were very nice but did not know the answer, so they sent me to Paul (Max Performance). Spoke with Paul, a very good guy too, who happen to have a AC Delco cylinder on his desk. And it too had the plastic tab sticking out in Aux. position.
So with Paul puzzled like me, I went to the wiring diagram and traced circuits. It turns out the buzzer will sound in aux. position, IF the driver’s door is open! With the driver’s door closed , the door jamb switch keeps the buzzer circuit from grounding and buzzing!
Sorry for the long rant, but this was really bugging me. I am glad I got it figured out.

BTW the steering column is back together now, with a correct working key switch!

WOW!! I should have known this, but as a non daily driver, I guess these facts slip the mind. Checked mine right after you posted and it works same way. When I bought the "good one" mine had troubles even going into Aux , which was my first concern. Thanks so much for updating this info. I will get it posted in the sticky resto folder soon

Just reading this. Thanks for clarifying. I stumbled upon the key buzzer going off in AUX which seemed odd.

My problem, the key buzzer stays on with the doors closed. I don't know where to start on this one.
