I am going to install a new windshield in my 72 Formula and I don't know what these are. The left side was there but broken and the right side was missing. They sit at the bottom of the windshield at each corner. The LH part number is 9868729.

Are these easy to get and if so, where can I get them. They look important in sealing the bottom of the windshield.

Thanks, Greg

I don't know what the heck they're called either. I don't think they'd make a huge difference without them, but I'm the anal retentive type that likes everything the way it left the factory. These are easy grabs at your local salvage yard. Basically every second generation F-Body Pontiac and Chevy will have one. That's where I got my last set.

I think they are reproduced, at least for the '71 and later cars. This is just one more of those bits that's unique on a '70...

They should still be available from GM. They're pretty cheap.

They are just trim pieces that cover the bottom corners of the windshield on each side. They are available from Year One. That is where I got mine. They are attached by sliding the upper end under the windshield trim and with a screw on the cowl end.

Put the shovel down..........The 71-81 version have 2 fingers. First one pokes up inside windscreen surround trim, second rests on the paint of the A-pillar.

The Ames catalog calls them "Outer Lower Corner finish moldings." The part number is FG112T. Price is $39.00 for the pair. They are also available separately, (FG112L and FG112R).
