Hey Wagon,
Did you rule out the traditional F1 steering gear setup?
Exhaust would have been a lot less trouble.

I don't realy like the f1 box I prefer the vega box but the steering box was not an issue with the headers the thing that was in the way was the brake and clutch masters that mount under the floor the other header issue is the sidedraft weber intake

Not ruling out that it wasn't Mr Simmonds, but if I remember correctly his car is a Lemans, and the car in the pic was a Tempest, and sounded like a 1bbl car not a sprint.

I saw a cammer at our cruise in last night, hardtop that was not in too bad shape. All original including the paint. Paint was real then. He stated the engine was rebuilt. He had a price on the windshield of 16000. He had the original sell papers for the car.

Saw a 68 sprint firebird (based on rocker emblem and 0 in the VIN) at a local car show last month but a quick peek under the hood revealed a small block chevy

Default Actually saw my own Stroker 69 Bird on the road

After a 10 year Snooze (interupted by a 5 day run at last years dream cruise when the valve guides and seals wore out) LILB1RD my 301 OHC-6 Powered 69 bird is back on the road, Drives very well but I now may have to much rear gear, with the 4.10 gear in the Chevy 12 Bolt, and the 3.35 1st gear of the 86 T-5 trans 1st gear is not that useful.
But it actually drives very nice, even though a few issues have popped up sense I last drove it. The Turn Signals have failed (switch in the Column) The gas gauge Quit, reads full all the time, Hoping it is just a ground issue, But I will find that out when I drop the tank.
I am just glad to have it on the road again!!!!!

I was Suprized to find I did not have the only OHC-6 at the recent Bob Sellers Show in Michigan, this very Nice 66 Tempest Sprint was there when I pulled in. 1st let me say that I am almost shocked to see any 66/67 Tempest 2 door that has Survied!!!!!! And has not been made into yet anouther GTO Clone. Very happy to see one!!!!

Now I have a Question about 66 Pontiac A-body Red Interiors, This is the second Red 66 I have seen, The other being a 66 GTO that when I knew it it was still owned by the original owner who ordered the car (he passed away about 10 years ago) he ordered it "tripple Red" Red Paint, Vinyl Top, and Interior. When He received it he was shocked that it had a White Headliner, he was eventually giving $50 off the car to take it as is. And he Complained that at several car shows he was marked down for his Custom headliner, as nothing on the trim tag indicated that it came with a white headliner.
Now I see this 66 Tempest, Red with a Red Interior, also with a White Headliner. Now don't take it wrong, as I think it looks good with the white sprint Stripe, and the GTO also had a White pin Stripe that also set off the Headliner well. Was this standard? Optional? Or did they just run short of Red headliners some days? Just Curious in Michigan.

Default Stretching the "cammer Spotting"

I am Stretching the Cammer spotting alittle, and a OHC-6 car is in one of the Pic's. But I thought this was a Neat little OHC powered Pontiac that you just do not see very often. A 1985 Sunbird Convt.
In the 1st shot you can see the 66 Sprint Tempest from my previous Post parked next to it. And the car has many owner added features, Modified Citation X-11 Wheels, 77-80 Sunbird Emblems, (including the very hard to Find Sunbird Safari rear hatch arrow head emblem, I am so Jelious!!!!!)
I guess I should have asked to Park my Firebird in the "cammer" section!!!!!!

You wonder where all those J2000-sunbirds all went, there were piles of them back in the 80's, below is a clue...

My friend in the early 80's had a turbo sunbird, it was quite quick by standards of the day but it torque steered like crazy and he blew the engine twice under warranty and once more later on (the last one resulting in the car getting crushed). This was in addition to endless transmission problems, suspension, steering and various bits falling off of the interior.
