Default Q Jet Decal

A friend made me a Q jet decal copied from his Extreme low mile orig 1978 TA.
What is the correct location on the carb for this decal?

You should ask him to send you a few pictures of his. Being a low milage car, his is the perfect example.

Well that’s easier said than done. No one on here has a decal in place?

Another nice detail is the AC solenoid decal. Anyone have a 1978 solenoid with a decal on, I’ll look to see if mine is still there.
I’ve never seen that vent tube gasket come in a kit, Cliffs as well.

Pic is what a guy makes I found on another forum, not sure what solenoid it’s for, prob Olds I’d imagine.

I’ve used a faucet washer to seal the gap.

I didn't even know the QJet had those decals on it. Lol pretty neat.

On an unrelated question that I really don't think it's necessary to start a new topic for...

The hot air choke tube that has the flare fitting nut that mates to carb. You know how that tube slips into the hole on the choke stove that also has the vacuum line tube coming out of it that you hook to the air cleaner?

My question is, the tube that goes to the carb. Is that tube supposed to freely slide in and out of the hole for it on the stove with ease, or is it supposed to be snugly press fit in? I ask because I got a really excellent condition used choke tube set for late 70's 400's but the carb side tube with the brass nut just slips in and out of the opening for it on the stove. It's such a loose fit that I'm not sure it's supposed to be that way or not. If not I can just goop some JB Weld ExtremeHeat putty and seal it but I wanna make sure. I know that once it's fastened to the carb, it's not going anywhere; but with that super loose fit in the stove opening, I'd be afraid of the hot air choke vacuum leak sucking in filthy air from that hole due to the loose fit.

When I had my carb done,I think my mechanic put some sealer on it. I think.

It's supposed to be a press fit. A little high temp sealer won't hurt. Your choke will work better if no leaks.

Anyone have a78 solenoid decal still on their car? I have a nOS one, but I imagine it’s not the same.

Should be same for 1978, as all 1979 400 engines were assemble before July, 1978.

A little bit of JB Weld ExtremeHeat it is! Thanks, guys.

I'm excited to go back to the hot air choke. My electric choke takes too long to open, and the hot air choke is just a much simpler system. Sadly, the tube sets for the late 70's 400's are worth their weight in gold and Inline Tube absolutely refuses to repro them.

High temp RTV if you ever want to remove it in the future.
