Default Removing wiring from voltage regulator

My regulator on my 66 LeMans sings like a out of tune fat lady. I want to replace the regulator and trying to remove the wires off the old regulator. It seems that the 4 wires are mounted in a rubberized block and I can't see how it is removed from the mounting. Any ideas? Pictures coming tomorrow.

Theres a small locking tab on the #3 terminal plug. Lift up the plastic bracket over #3 with a small screwdriver and pull the plug out.

Photo shows the plug partially removed
