Default Tech at Norwalk-more organized this year??

Just throwing this out there. Last year on Friday, where they had tech next to the fuel pumps, just seemed like a bad idea. Maybe SD Promotons (Pete) will see this and get it resolved before the event this year?? We were all lined up behind the Nostalgia racers, and generally clogging up the inside row of the pits. Isn't there a better way to do this??? Just my .02. JOHN

I talked to Pete a few days ago about Teching some or all of the cars in Linder's lot on Thursday and or Fri morn to alleviate some congestion on Fri. He told me he would consider it but he said his tech guy's schedule may not allow it. So, wait and see on this...I guess.

Could they tech you in staging lanes as some other tracks do ?? Just a suggestion. Either way the lanes will be busy...lots of racers .

I seem to remember them teching cars walking through the pits in years past. I don't ever remember it being the cluster f@#k that it was last year.

Linder's would be a great idea for teching on Thursday/Friday morning. That would sure eliminate A LOT of congestion and confusion. Pete are reading this? LOL

Great Idea-We're just waiting and killing time and once inside trackside there's just too much to do.

Staging lanes would be nice, especially if you could make a run right after.
Also relieve some traffic. Not as many go'n back upstream.

2007, Tech guy came up to me in the staging lanes, said have you been teched, I said No, he said you have been now and stuck the sticker on my car.

2008, Tech guy is walking thru the pits, I have my hood open, he looks under the hood briefly and puts the sticker on my car.

2009, Friday's line was way to long, waited till late Friday afternoon, he looked under hood, checked battery, overflow bottle and return springs on carb , then asked how fast it runs, then asked to see my Helmet, had just bought a new one or would of been flagged for it.

That was the worst tech line I was ever involed with. Thought it might have been an NHRA thing since they changed affiliations. Don't forget your locking trans dipstick.

They TECh'd the chit out of me last year. He all but put a blind fold on me and did a cockpit orientation test! LOL Probably one of the most comprehensive techs I've ever had.

Thats a serious understatement! After dealing with that and the F#cked up way the handled the racing on Saturday/Sunday, I hope someone figured out a better way for this year.

That was nothing. You should go through tech at Route 66 Raceway. That has to be the longest I have ever waited to get teched.

Other than last year I think the only time I ever got teched at Norwalk was in the staging lanes. He checked belts and the helmet and I recieved a sticker. That was probably 5 years ago and I think he only managed to get 5 of us before they started making runs so he gave up.

Any chance they will allow a passenger on time trials? With a helmet, of course.

In years past they have on Friday. Just have to ask. This was in a low 14 second hardtop street car.

I rode with Hooter on a Friday pass in 2005, and he ran a high 11 even with my 185 lbs of ballast added. I wondered if they'd still allow it, might let the wife ride along.

When is a locking trans dipstick needed? Never even thought of that.
