Default Norwalk night under fire

We were there and I have a few questions, if anybody knows the answers.

What is the seating capacity of Norwalk?
How much do the funny cars get paid to show up?

After the event, we were able to walk on the track. Extremely sticky. My wife stopped to get a pic of Ashley Force's car. I stood there for a moment and my tennis shoes really stuck to the track. Moreso than when we were walking.
Why does it seem the pit crews have no problem walking the track?
Do they have a special sole on their shoes?

thanks,
david

P.S.
will it be just as sticky for us next weekend?

Norwalk's seating capacity is about 30,000. Only the Bader's and the funny car driver's know what they are getting paid, and no one has ever talked. The track surface was prepared as it is for the national event and is always that sticky. You get used to walking on it, and running is easier. Standing still is where you get into trouble!
