Is this a record price for a '72 Formula 455HO? I had no idea!

The car is a long time dweller of this section. It is the best one currently existing in the time/spacial dimension in which most of us inhabit on a regular basis.

I think it’s pretty safe to say it’s a record for a 1972 Pontiac without distinction of model.

Good point, fellow inhabitant of this dimension.

$165K was still probably way less than what was invested into the restoration by the two crazy people that spent their time married to the Black Car.

Only their accountants know for sure :-)

I was happy with what I sold it for. He made a little money, but I wouldn’t trade my enjoyment and the time I spent with MPD and Darrell for what he cleared or even twice. If I was doing this for a living I might get an accountant involved, but I’m doing this to live and enjoy life. Believe me every day I strap in, hold on and try not to scream too much.

It’s a badass car. Few like it. It deserves to be valued and I’m proud of my period as caretaker and MPD is as well. The contributions he made and the pride he has in the Black Car is worth the price of admission.

May it have a good life.
