Default Need help finding correct Silverado wiring harness

Oh brother. I’ve spent hours now looking for this.
My rear passenger side tail/brake light went out. I got a bulb and pulled the light. I found water in the housing and the connections so corroded that the one not working socket fell apart.
OK, I call around and look on the internet for a new harness. EVERY one I find has the 3047 bulb for the back up light. I have an apparently rare 921 back up bulb, they’re not interchangeable.
I’ve tried all my usual web sites and no luck. Any ideas?
Thanks!

BTW- it’s a 2011 Silverado

Well, if nobody can find one, I figured out a plan B. I found an aftermarket housing/lens that comes complete with a new harness for $43. I can live with that. Quality is probably crap though. So I would have a 3047 bulb on one side, 921 on the other. Just cross my fingers that the harness plug is wired the same.

The 921 has one filament, and the 3047 has two. Something other than just the bulb is different.

Yeah, I thought of that. I don’t know if just one filament is used, or both. If I order the light/harness, I’m going to crawl under the truck to check and see how the current harness is wired, as compared to the new one.
It’s all kind of bs. There is millions of these trucks on the road. I can’t see me being the only one in this position. I could always go to the junk yard an get another plug, but how much better shape is one going to be here in Wisconsin? My truck spent its first 8 years in Arizona.

It looks like Rock Auto has both versions.

Really? I looked this afternoon and only saw the one style, left and right side.
I’ll check again.

Maybe...I was guessing at 1/2 ton, since you didn’t say. Lots of choices.

push come to shove you could replace both harnesses and use the 3047 bulb or the 3157 LED bulb.

Why not just replace the pig tail?

I hate splicing into a wire harness, they always seem to corrode up in the rust belt. Also can’t find a pig tail that fits that light housing. But, no other choice at this point. I’m just going to the junk yard Wednesday and get a couple off of a parts truck. What a crock.

If you get a good kit they will have the heat shrink butt splice connectors with the glue inside that melts and encases the wire. That is the best and easiest way to do it.

Well, a fellow member got ahold of me an gave me the part number for a new harness. I don’t know why they’re so hard to track down. I just ordered a new one.
Thanks people for the help
