Who do you all use for insurance for your SD-455's? I assume most use Haggerty, but I was just looking to see if anyone else uses any other collector/classic car insurance for our cars and are happy with it.

Ive used MK Insurance for about ten years now. Ask for Tamra Petro. Tell her I sent you. I've referred a bunch of people over the years. They give a 5% discount to club members. (This site counts as a club).

Excellent coverage and rates. Far better than Hagerty and the rest who would raise my rates every year.

And they passed the real test when I had an actual claim for a door chip in Gramma's Firebird. They insisted on having my restoration guy paint and blend the entire back half of the car and not just the door! They were telling me that my estimate was way too low! They had the initial payment wired to my account during our claim report phone call. Amazing!

A door chip is a insurance claim? Explain this more. Interesting..

Yup. Door swung wide in my garage and the lower edge contacted the cement block wall where the drywall starts. Took a chunk of paint off the edge, right down to the metal. It was covered under normal collision claim process with zero deductible.

Every time I send someone her way she laughs when I ask her if I get a commission or at least a reduction in my rate. The answer is always no, but she has a good sense of humor.

Looks like you've got this one figured correctly. A 4/83 Pontiac MPC shows the box part number to be only for '73-74 SD Firebirds.

FWIW, the 3/73 MPC catalog printing shows #492428 as the original '73 S.D. muffler, making your later number indeed a Service Replacement part.

Well long story short, I need a NOS catalytic converter for my 76 50th anniv 455 car. If anyone here has the part I need PM me and I'm sure we could have a great conversation.

76-77 parts book and assembly manual call out 8998109 for the converter, later books state 8998163 which is probably a service replacement number
