Default Stock Steel Wheel for 63 Model Needed

Need a 5" wide stock wheel for a 1963 model. It's my understanding the 5" wheel was used primarily on Convertible & Station Wagon models.

Thanks, Kyle

Looking for a 63 Tempest coupe taillight panel. Located in NW Ohio and can pick one up at Norwalk if you are willing to bring one. May consider just the RH half.

Thanks,
Todd

I might be able to get one to you in September via Layne Otteson.

Default Working on a 63 Lemans, looking for parts

Hello all! My name is Mike. I am working on a 1963 Pontiac Lemans for a customer. The car is pretty clean and completely rust free, but it needs some mechanical attention, and apparently parts are unobtanium for these things!

At present, I am looking for
-steering idler arm and bracket (has some play)
-power steering control valve (has lots of play)
-transmission pan gasket and filter

I found one company that can rebuild the control valve, so worst case I can do that, but the idler arm and bracket don't seem to be available anywhere. I can find ones for a 61-62, but I don't know what the difference is, or if they are interchangable.

Anyway, if anyone has any parts sources, or knows what my options are here, let me know. Thanks!

Mike

The steering on the 63 Tempest is a power ASSISTED unit like used on early Corvettes and I think Mustangs.I had a Corvette shop local to me do the steering.FYI!When you get it done keep your hand away from the steering wheel when you start the car for the first time. The wheel can spin wildly one way or the other.Join the Little Indians site, many on there should be able to help you.Tom

Rare Parts can rebuild the idler arm and they currently have a reduced price sale; https://fcrcmachine.com/rare-parts-r...-lemans-20186/
I’ve not used them for mine but know of others that have.

As mentioned, Rare parts for Idler or Kanter Auto Parts in NJ or search Ebay, there's always several NOS Idler arms or kits on there.

https://www.kanter.com/

I used Lares to rebuild my control valve 10 years ago, still works great!

https://www.larescorp.com/

Fatsco Transmissons in NJ has your pan gasket, maybe screen as well. 62 uses a screen not a filter, not sure what they used in 63. should be able to clean out the screen/filter

Little Indians club member Robin has some Repo Lemans tail light lens available. Very well done, better than NOS.
