Default Distributor mod to work with FITECH

I'm rebuilding a vortec 350 with my son for his 79 Camaro.

We are planning to go with FITECH since that is what I'm used to.

What is required to make a distributor work with the FITECH?

The factory vortec distributor is computer controlled from GM and is already locked out and has no provision for mechanical or vacuum advance.

The factory connector is a 3 wire and I'll pull the rotor tomorrow to see if I can identify where the three wires go. I have been unable to find a factory wiring diagram so far.

You need to remove the ignition module first and trigger directly from the FiTech. Here's a good read that discusses phasing as well as how to accomplish using the TBI with a traditional 12v 2 wire system.
