Pretty good price. I bought mine through a local weld supply shop here for around 480. You will need a tank and gas. That will run about 100-120. A cart is about 25-30. If you buy from a local welding supply shop you will have a relationship with a place to continually buy supplies from, like more wire and gas, etc.

It will be fine for small frame work and body panels.

I have the same model I bought from Lowes. Was ~$500. It's an excellent welder, easy to get consumable parts, very well made, smooth wire feed, just a quality tool....

I tried saving a couple bucks with one of those Harbor Freight POS welders. Burned it up in no time. I love the Lincoln, it welds great.

I have to agree with Tony, I also got mine from Lowes and I'm very happy with it.

I'm one who has said good things about Clark welders. Glad to hear you are happy with it too. They use the same comsumables as the Lincoln ( industry stanard now), and are reasonably priced.

Would this welder be able to weld Rollbar tubing to a frame or perhaps a Coil over mount to the frame or subframe connectors???

Sorry for the run-on sentence...lol....thanks.

Using .035 flux core wire and set on the highest setting, 1/4 inch is pretty much the limit of the welder.

Default What about sheetmetal?

Like on the quarterpanels, floor pans, that sort of thing?

If you go to lowes you may be able to get a 10% off coupon on line. I spent about 1000.00 there about 6 months ago and got a 10% off coupon on the lowes web site. saved me a hundred bucks. I also got another one from them and took it to home depot and used it because they will accept competitors coupons.

Default Advice on Mig Welders

Any of these suggestions, when put into effect, will likely increase the strength and durability of your weld.
  • Clean, Clean, and More Clean.
  • Obtain a Great Ground.
  • Keep The Arc Up Front. Match Drive Rolls, Gun Cable Liner, Contact Tip to the Wire Size. Use Both Hands. Listen To Your Welder. Keep Your Stickout Short. Push or Pull.

Upgrading to Mig from flux core is an almost must. But you did say MIG in your OP. Once you get the good at welding you'll understand. You'll need to crank up the shielding gas pressure when welding upside down. The shielding gas is heavier than air and will result in poor welds and many burns. Some facial. LOL
