Default Leaf spring question

Hi group, under our 1967 firebird, I have leaf springs with four leaves. I
've heard of a three leaf, and of course the mono leaf.
What do you think about this four-leaf? Is it stock, or where do you think it came from?

Did you remove the traction/anti-hop bar in the car? If not, it's likely an aftermarket spring. Going to a good quality aftermarket spring especially with wrapped forward leafs in the pack would help axle-wrap enough that you could get rid of the traction bar.

That may answer your question.

Maybe a 1969 spring set? Looks like an isolator missing also, possibly to make room for the thicker spring set?

Thank you guys, really appreciate the input. The reason I was asking my question was to try to determine which shock absorbers to buy for this setup. My understanding is that between the mono leaf and the multi-leaf for the first generation, there was a difference in the mount at the bottom for the shock absorber. So my question is is there a performance difference between the mono Leaf shock and the multi-leaf shock? Because what I think I have here is a multi-leaf spring pack with a mono leaf shock mount.

It's anyone's guess what shock you may have in there now. For a decent performance shock without breaking the bank, I really liked the Gabriel VST's I had for a time on my 69 bird. I want to say at the time they were about 30 bucks a piece.

If your budget allows for more, I'd look at the Koni Classic (red). Having the ability to adjust it's stiffness may be beneficial considering the car is using some unknown spring pack in the rear.
